Tony PottleAugust 14th ICF North Texas Coaches Luncheon Program

The Neuroscience of the Coaching Conversation

by Tony Pottle

Our August 14 luncheon features Tony Pottle, Chief Development Officer and founding partner at the Academy of Brain-based Leadership (ABL). ABL works with the world's largest international database of the human brain and some of the most brilliant scientists to bring insights into the human brain, including a direct, brain-based leadership assessment. Tony has a personal vision of reaching millions of people through personally touching thousands of lives.

Program Description:

A new era has arrived. Neuroscience discoveries about the brain and mind are starting to unlock the untapped capacity. In a world with greater demands, less time and more distractions, understanding your brain and mind is the new competitive edge.

We will explore the basic organizing principle of the brain and why it matters. We'll take a look at what happens in the brain when we are having coaching conversations. We will also dive into astounding insights showing why change is so hard for our clients. In an interactive and participative approach, you'll experience biases and explore ways to mitigate them.

Program Outcomes:

  • Understand the brain's basic organizing principle and the implications for day-to-day interactions and activities

  • Increase Coaching Presence by knowing how to be more fully conscious and how to get an effective relationship with the client from the start

  • Discover what gets in the way of Communicating Effectively, including the impact to Active Listening, Powerful Questions and Direct Communication

  • Use a brain-friendly way to create awareness
