Kristin Robertson, PCC
1955-2024
2020 ICF-North Texas President

Kristin Robertson, PCC, our 2020 ICF-North Texas Chapter President, passed away on June 5, 2024. One of Kristin's greatest legacies was her relentless dedication to leaving the world a better place than she found it.

As 2020 President of ICF-North Texas, Kristin led with grace and determination, guiding us through the challenges of the pandemic and reminding us of the power of connection and community. Her belief in the transformative power of coaching was unwavering, and she served as a beacon of inspiration to us all.

An ICF member since 2008, Kristin served on ICF-North Texas chapter’s Board of Directors as Programs Chair for two years before becoming President Elect in 2019, and then President in 2020. Kristin’s unwavering belief in the power of collaboration was exemplified in her service on the board of the Texas Coaches Coalition, comprising the four ICF chapters in Texas. In 2020, Kristin and her husband, Adam Gordon, moved to Austin to be closer to their children Becca and Eric, at which time Kristin joined the ICF Austin Chapter.

Through Brio Leadership, her coaching and consulting practice, Kristin was known as a talented executive coach and organizational design consultant. Her passion for excellence and love of learning set a wonderful example for all, as she continuously added to her “tool kit” of knowledge and assessments to serve her clients.

Kristin authored three books and earned a certificate in Evidence-Based Coaching from Fielding Graduate University, where she also completed a second master’s degree in Organization Development and Leadership.

A person of deep faith, Kristin was a trained spiritual director and provided direction at Texas Christian University’s Brite Divinity School as well as through her local church. She led retreats-in-everyday-life following the Exercises of St. Ignatius. In 2016, Kristin and her daughter, Becca, walked a large portion of the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain.

Kristin was an extraordinary leader, coach, colleague, and friend. Her example inspired us. Her ability to connect and build meaningful relationships inspired many and lives on as core values that infuse our chapter today.

A North Texas-area memorial service will be held July 13 in North Richland Hills:

July 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM (light lunch to follow)
St. Paul Presbyterian Church
4517 Rufe Snow Drive
North Richland Hills, TX 76180

ICF-North Texas created a memory board for you to share your memories and stories of Kristin. You can access it here: https://www.kudoboard.com/boards/YfogHmtB.

From Your Board

During our most recent Board of Directors meeting, we completed several important milestones. First, we honored Kristin Robertson with a donation in her memory to the ICF Global Foundation. We also appointed Rory Brannum as Treasurer and warmly welcomed him to your Board of Directors.

A significant focus moving forward is the preservation of ICF-North Texas's history, which we are now actively collecting and organizing. Additionally, we had the opportunity to preview ICF Global’s new ICF-Professional Coaches Engage Platform. This exciting new platform will soon replace the current ICF Extranet, offering enhanced connectivity and interaction for all our members.

In another update, we are introducing new affiliation classifications: Besides “Full Members,” we have included the following: "Associates," "Organizational Sponsors," and "ICF Partners." These categories will soon be detailed on our website, though most members will not experience any immediate changes.

Furthermore, our Alliances Chair briefed us on a new initiative that will further expand our impact. Alongside our existing "pro bono" (no cost coaching) partnerships, we will now also focus on developing "low bono" (reduced rate coaching) opportunities. This initiative aims to further strengthen our community bonds and broaden our support network.

These steps mark a significant advancement for your chapter, reinforcing our commitment to growth, collaboration, and community impact.

Finally...don’t forget that our July meeting will be virtual only!

Steve Hendon
President, ICF-North Texas

Calling All Internal Coaches!

Our recent program by Cherie Silas on Internal Coaching created quite the buzz. Some of you have contacted me, and I believe we have enough interest to re-start the Internal Coaches LINC.

Would you like to meet once a month with other coaches navigating the Internal Coach landscape? (The group can decide day and time and on ZOOM or in person details.) This could be a great opportunity for you to get to know others in the Internal Coaching field. I can just imagine the robust conversations that will happen. If you are an internal coach and would like to be part of this newly formed LINC, don’t delay. Email Cheryl Close at membership@icf-nt.com so I can put you on the list.

Being part of this community helps me stay current with industry trends and continuously improve my coaching skills.
Involvement with ICF: I am an active member of the DEI and Alliance Committees within ICF, contributing to initiatives that promote diversity and build strategic alliances. These roles enable me to stay engaged with the coaching community and support the development of inclusive coaching practices.

Education and Mentoring Opportunities: Through my involvement with ICF, I have benefited from various educational opportunities, including chapter meetings and committee work. These experiences provide valuable learning and growth, allowing me to stay at the forefront of coaching methodologies and best practices.

Client Focus: I work with leaders in both non-profit and corporate sectors who struggle with burnout, leadership influence, and team presence. My services include:
  • Corporate/Executive Coaching: Helping leaders enhance their leadership skills, manage stress, and achieve their professional goals.

  • Multicultural Coaching: Addressing the unique challenges faced by leaders in diverse and multicultural settings.
  • Team/Group Coaching: Facilitating team dynamics and improving group performance through effective coaching techniques.

Credentials and Certification: I hold an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential and am actively working toward my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) certification, with a goal to achieve it by 2025. This journey underscores my commitment to continuous professional growth and adherence to the highest standards in coaching excellence.

Training and Expertise: My expertise is enriched through extensive training in leadership assessment tools and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). I am certified in Gallup StrengthsFinder, Leadership Profile 360, Intercultural Development Inventory, Intercultural Conflict Styles, and Myers-Briggs.
