ICW 2025: Pro Bono Coach - Coast to Coast




This challenge invites coaches to offer at least 3 hours of pro bono coaching by May 18. The coaching may be individual, team, group, mentor coaching, or coaching supervision. Individual coaches from any chapter or anywhere in the world are invited to participate – making this a true coast to coast effort! We invite you to be creative in finding your pro bono clients in order to amplify the positive impact of coaching.


  • Sign up and commit to 3 hours of Pro Bono coaching between April 1st – May 18th
  • Get your ICF North Texas Pro Bono Badge after registering and share on your social media.
  • Track and Submit your hours and watch the coast to coast impact!

ICF North Texas and SMU will host a special hybrid luncheon event on the SMU campus focused on emotional intelligence and educator wellbeing.

"From Burnout to Breakthrough: EQ and Wellbeing for Educational Leaders” will bring together a panel of education leaders and coaches to explore the power of coaching in supporting EducationalLeaders - and the ripple effect it creates in schools and communities.

Sabrina Townsend is a dynamic executive leader specializing in talent management, DEI, organizational transformation, and leadership development. With over two decades of experience, she has a proven track record of driving high-performance teams, fostering inclusive workplaces, and aligning workforce strategies with business objectives. As Global Director of DEIB at World Wide Technology, she transformed the company’s DEI strategy, improving employee engagement by 15% and reducing turnover by 10%. Previously, she served as a DEIB consultant and speaker, designing tailored programs for global clients. Her leadership at Parkland Community Health Plan and Humana strengthened employee engagement, operational efficiencies, and compliance. Sabrina holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and multiple certifications in cultural competency and diversity leadership. A sought-after speaker, she serves on nonprofit boards and is committed to fostering innovation, inclusion, and professional growth.

Panelists

 

Dr. Jennifer Parvin, PCC, is a proven educational leader with 25+ years of experience and holds the Professional Coach Certification (PCC) from the International Coaching Federation and serves as an executive coach to campus, district, and organizational leaders. She is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Human-Centered Interdisciplinary Studies Department, Simmons School of Education at Southern Methodist University (S.M.U.) and teaches multiple in-demand coaching courses. She served as Director of the Dallas I.S.D. Leadership Academy and prior to that, Dr. Parvin was the Founding Principal of Salazar Elementary, a National Model Professional Learning Community. Jennifer began her career in education teaching English as a Second Language. Most recently, Jennifer has co-authored the book, Powerful Inquiry:  Leading With Question To Build Leadership Capacity in Your School and District, published by Solution Tree Press in October 2024.  Dr. Parvin holds a B.A. in English from West Texas A & M, an M.A. in English/Humanities from the University of Dallas and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.  

Cheryl Close is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) with the ICF and a premier Mentor Coach specializing in leadership transformation. As founder and CEO of Close Coaching & Consulting, LLC, she partners with executives and organizations to drive strategic growth and high-performance outcomes. Previously, she led leadership development and advanced academic programs for a top school district, launching the award-winning CLASS coaching initiative. A dedicated industry leader, Cheryl co-founded the Texas Coaches Coalition and serves on the board of ICF-North Texas. With a Master of Education and extensive coaching credentials, she is renowned for her “Coaching Magic,” delivering transformative results for leaders across industries.  She earned the prestigious Distinguished Service Award for Excellence in Coaching from ICF-North Texas.

Dr. Dara Rossi is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation Professional and is a leadership coach, facilitator, and mentor coach. She has an MBA, a master’s degree in Dispute Resolution, certification Emotional Intelligence 2.0. Dara also serves as the President of the Board for the International Coaching Federation North Texas. In addition to her coaching practice, Dara is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Human-Centered Interdisciplinary Studies Department, Simmons School of Education at Southern Methodist University teaching coach courses. She previous taught in the SMU Principal Certificate Program and coaching new administrators. She has 15 years of experience as a public educator, instructional coach, and administrator. She also hosts the No Cape Required podcast, where she inspires women to embrace authenticity, growth, and confidence, empowering them to fly high without a cape.

Adam Flores is a lifelong educator and school leader with a passion for educator well-being. After earning his degree from Colorado State University, he spent five years teaching U.S. history at the secondary level, mentoring emergent bilingual students, coaching varsity soccer, and leading student government. He later earned a Master’s in School Leadership from Harvard and went on to serve in leadership roles, including founding principal of Texas’s first EL Education high school, where he achieved a 100% graduation rate. Adam has held district leadership roles in Dallas ISD, leading professional development, policy creation, and assessment strategy. Now, as Director of Leadership for the Principal Impact Collaborative, he oversees the fellowship’s learning journey, facilitates workshops, and coaches principals across North Texas.
